Newcastle Law School prides itself upon its links with the legal profession and regulatory agencies based in the region. We make every effort to ensure that our students enjoy the benefit of these links.
Newcastle Law School arranges a series of events with representatives from law firms to make sure that you are fully informed, at each stage of your degree, on how to market yourself to potential empoyers. Fom induction week onwards we bring the law firms to you to give you up-to-date advice on the legal professions and to answer your questions.
Solicitors from local firms will judge the performance of every first year student in the Law School's Client Interviewing Competition, helping our students to hone their legal skills from the outset of their studies.
Many prominent regional and national law firms, including DLA Piper, Dickinson Dees, Crutes, Arnold & Porter and Pinsent Mason generously sponsor prizes for out-standing performance at Newcastle Law School.

Local Barristers are a common sight at Newcastle Law School, often dropping by to judge rounds of the inter-mural Cartmell-Shepherd Senior Mooting Competition or to adjudicate upon the presitigous inter-varsity mooting competitions in which the brightese advocates in the Law School compete.
Newcastle Law School enjoys excellent links with the Newcastle Combined Court Centre, the hub of legal activity in North East England. Every year, we bring our students on Court Visits to familiarise themselves with the workings of the criminal and civil justice systems.
Judges sitting at the Combined Courts regularly visit the law school to share their insights into the legal profession with our students and to judge student mooting competitions.
Newcastle Law School and the Environment Agency each year give two undergraduate students the opportunity to work with the Environment Agency's Environmental Crime Team in Newcastle as an Environmental Crime Technical Assistant. Find out more about the internships.
