International Student Tutor
You bring vibrancy and a wealth of experience to our Law School community and we've developed services specific to international students to match.
Central to these services is the International Student Tutor, a member of staff dedicated to supporting international undergraduates. Since 2004, Ms Shamini Ragavan has drawn upon her personal experience as a former international student to develop a unique support structure, the International Student Intensive Guidance and Development Programme.
International Student Intensive Guidance and Development Programme
The programme provides for additional academic sessions held once every week during the academic calendar. It runs throughout the first year of an international student's time at Newcastle Law School and is intended to facilitate your academic, social and cultural transition into this new learning environment. Since the inception of this Programme, pass rates for our international students have improved dramatically. The Newcastle University HASS Faculty Annual Mentoring and Review of Undergraduate Provisions 2006 has commended this Programme as good practice.
