In 2008/09, the Law School was the subject of an Internal Subject Review - the process by which the Law School and Bar Council monitor accredited providers of a qualifying law degree within the United Kingdom. This independent audit involved an extensive examination of the Law School's teaching and learning provision. The resulting report praised the excellent teaching provision at Newcastle Law School, with our curriculum, feedback and careers support being commended as examples of good practice.
Our students back up what the independent reviewers have said. In the National Student Satisfaction Survey 2009 the Law School received ratings of over 95% for the enthusiasm of our staff and for the LLB course being intellectually stimulating. Our rating for overall satisfaction was 91% in 2008 and 98% in 2009, a level of consistency which places us right at the top of the Russell Group Law Schools.
