One of our main aims is to provide research training for PhD candidates. The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences has a Research training programme which would be available to all PEALS research students.
Two fully funded PhD studentships which commenced in October 2005 for a three year period have been completed. Doctorates were awarded to both candidates.
We have an ongoing and successful collaboration with the Institute of Genetic Medicine where we offer two modules for Newcastle University's MSc in Medical Genetics.
We have appointed an ESRC Case studentship, in partnership with the TREAT-NMD project, under the supervision of Simon Woods and Jancie McLaughlin.
