Research award success

PEALS staff were delighted when not one but two new projects were given recognition by the University through being awarded Faculty Research Awards. 

Research Associate Pauline McCormack has secured £3,710 to map and compare policy for clinical and social care for childhood muscular dystrophies in the UK and Denmark, with a view to identifying best practice in holistic approaches to care.

Co-Director Jackie Leach Scully has been awarded £3,000 towards research in Australia into the recent DNA identification of the remains of WW1 Australian soldiers found in Fromelles, France. Jackie will work with colleagues at the Centre for Values, Ethics and the Law in Medicine at the University of Sydney Medical School where she holds an Honorary Senior Lecturer post.
