Nano2Life

Nano2Life was the first European Network of Excellence in nanobiotechnology, supported by the 6th Framework Programme of the European Commission (FP6).

Its aim was to merge existing European expertise in the field of nanobiotechnology. Erica Haimes was a member of the Ethical Legal and Social Advisory (ELSA) Board on this project.

The Board comprised 11 experts from eight European countries and their brief was to identify and study the different ethical, legal, and social aspects (ELSA) related to nanobiotechnology.

One of the main tasks of the ELSA Board was to integrate ethics advice into the developing scientific projects and to draft a paper on the ethical, legal and social aspects of brain implants using nanoscale material and techniques.
