Facilities

The Centre of Bacterial Cell Biology has extensive, world-class facilities. They facilitate a broad range of research, from nanotechnology to whole cell function.

Scientists within the Centre for Bacterial Cell Biology are based in the newly-refurbished laboratories within the new, purpose built Baddiley-Clark Building. They also have access to facilities within the Institute for Cell and Molecular Biosciences and the Faculty of Medical Sciences.

The Baddiley-Clark Building project brings together a critical mass of world leading bacterial cell biologists. It provides them with state-of-the-art facilities in which to push the boundaries of knowledge. The £18m project was supported by a £6m grant from the Wellcome Trust (the largest such grant it made in the 2008-9 round of funding).
