Dr Yiji Lu

Yiji is a Fellow in the Durham Energy Institute and an Assistant Professor of Energy Systems in Durham University’s Department of Engineering.  His research focuses on Renewable and Clean Energy Conversion, Energy Storage and Cleaner/Alternative Fuels to tackle the Climate Change challenges. 

Yiji obtained MPhil in Sustainability (2012) and PhD in Energy Systems (2016) at Newcastle University, being awarded a prestigious Outstanding Research Award for his PhD project. Dr Lu has published over 60 articles in high-quality international journals and peer-reviewed conferences, and one book chapter, with over 500 citations and an H-index of 13 according to Google Scholar.

Yiji serves as an Editorial Member to various Energy Research Journals, including Energy Reports (Elsevier), Thermal Science and Engineering Progress (Elsevier), Scientific Reports (Nature Research), Frontiers in Energy Research (Frontiers) and Sustainability (MDPI). He is also a member of the EPSRC Peer Review College

Yiji primarily contributes to CESI Work Packages 2 and 3, particularly on on the technological development of the Integrated Hydrogen Energy Systems.
