Newcastle University School of Engineering hosted the 2019 UK Energy Storage Conference (UKES2019). The focus of the 2019 event was the Digitalisation of Storage.

UKES2019 brought together over 250 UK and international representatives from academia, industry and policymakers across the whole field of energy storage, providing an inclusive platform to share their research.

The conference took place in Newcastle University's brand new Frederick Douglass Centre at Newcastle Helix. The conference dinner was held at The Biscuit Factory home of Contemporary, Handmade and Independent Art.
