PDRA Opportunity in Uncertainty with CESI’s Durham Academic Team

CESI’s Academic Team at Durham University Department of Mathematical Sciences are recruiting for a PDRA in Statistical Uncertainty Quantification for Energy Systems Modelling.

The Department of Mathematical Sciences at Durham University invites applications for a postdoctoral position, for a 30-month period, commencing, ideally, by the beginning of October 2019.

The post-holder will conduct research in statistical methodology related to CESI.

The research will develop uncertainty quantification methodology for a range of complex computer simulators representing energy economics and engineering systems with focus on the propagation of uncertainty between linked models.

The development of exemplars in energy systems integration, in collaboration with other academic disciplines and industrial partners within the CESI project, will be central to this work.

A unique feature of this project will be the development of principles and methods for the audit of the treatment of uncertainty within modelling applications, both within energy systems and more generally. This will involve close liaison with the National Audit Office.
