I am an Academic Practice Team Manager within the Learning, Teaching and Development Service (LTDS) at Newcastle University, where I provide strategic leadership for academic development, professional recognition, curriculum enhancement, and student support initiatives .I am committed to fostering a culture of educational excellence, reflective practice, and evidence-informed enhancement.

As the University's Advance HE Accreditation Lead, I lead Newcastle University's Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Routes, supporting colleagues in achieving Associate Fellowship (D1), Fellowship (D2), and Senior Fellowship (D3) through the Professional Standards Framework (PSF).

I oversee the development and delivery of a comprehensive portfolio of Professional Development Programmes and recognition schemes, including:

I lead a team that designs and delivers workshops, resources, mentoring, and developmental support for both Academic and Professional Services colleagues engaged in teaching and the support of learning. I also oversee mentor provision across all supported recognition routes, ensuring participants are effectively guided in their professional development and understanding of the Professional Standards Framework.

I am the PS Lead for LEC Fellow project, supporting a network of fifteen academic fellows who champion the implementation of Newcastle University's Senate-approved Leading Edge Curriculum across undergraduate and Postgraduate Programmes. Through this work, I help ensure that curriculum innovation and enhancement are informed by active pedagogical research, with insights feeding directly into the University's wider learning and teaching strategy and professional development offer.

I work closely with individuals, teams, and senior leaders across the institution to support applications for national recognition schemes, including:

National Teaching Fellowship Scheme (NTFS)

Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence (CATE)

Vice Chancellors Award

I also lead the University's Academic Advising Development activity, working in partnership with the Dean of Students to promote consistency, quality, and excellence in academic support for students throughout their studies.

Currently involved in a UK Advising and Tutoring (UKAT) pilot exploring new opportunities for professional recognition and development in academic advising and contributing to the enhancement of advising practice across the sector.
