Chartered Institute for Archaeologists Conference 2017

We're pleased to announce that the 2017 conference of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (CIfA) will be held at Newcastle University, hosted by the School of History, Classics and Archaeology.

Date/Time: 19 - 21 April 2017

Venue: Armstrong Building, Newcastle University

The conference will be held in the University's historic Armstrong Building between Wednesday 19 April and Friday 21 April.

The title of this year's conference is Archaeology: A Global Profession.

Archaeology should be without borders, and professional archaeology must be without borders. The conference will provide an opportunity to report on the progress made and will explore both the opportunities and difficulties of professionalising across borders.

The themes are simple, broad and flexible, and accommodate an exciting programme. They are:

  • professionalism
  • protection
  • discovery

There will be half-day sessions within a traditional paper format, discussion/panel seminars or CPD workshops.

Further details are available on CIfA's conference page.

Booking is now open via Eventbrite.
