NUiS Summer Camp

Sustainability Thinking Summer Camp at Newcastle University in Singapore.

Join a five-day summer camp hosted by our Newcastle University in Singapore campus! The theme for the camp is Sustainability Thinking, where participants will take part in workshops, discussion sessions and work in teams on real sustainability challenges provided by local businesses. 

The camp offers a unique opportunity to interact with other international students while exploring Singapore, a global hub for innovation and sustainability. 

 

What to expect

  • Working on an assigned project within a team (working towards a group presentation)

Eligibility 

  • undergraduate and postgraduate students
  • interest in sustainability, innovation and making a global difference
  • preference will be given to applicants who have completed the pre-camp Virtual Exchange: Climate Change Data Analytics

Dates

29th June - 4th July 2026

Virtual Exchange: Climate Change Data Analytics

Camp participants are invited to take part in the VE: Climate Change Data Analytics. This activity will run from 23rd February - 13th March  and will require around 3 hours of work per week over 4 weeks. 

Fees

$1,950 SGD (around £1,150) + GST. This includes:

  • Accommodation - 7 nights in a twin room in YWCA Fort Canning (Sunday 28th June - Sunday 5th July)
  • Daily breakfast 
  • Programme fee, site visit & transportation
  • Weekday lunches & refreshments
  • 1 x camp dinner
  • Camp t-shirt & certificate of attendance

Scholarships

£2,500 scholarships are available to applicants who meet the GO Global Scholarship eligibility criteria. Applications for this funding will be organised as part of the application process.

You do not have to receive a scholarship to take part in the programme.

We anticipate the camp will be very popular, therefore applications will be competitive. 

  1. Complete and submit the Register your interest form
  2. On receipt of these, you'll receive details of the next stage of the application, selection and scholarships
  3. We recommend you join the pre-camp Virtual Exchange: Climate Change Data Analytics
  4. Ensure all application forms are completed prior to the deadline

Deadline and timelines

  • Students can register interest via the form until Wednesday 11th March
  • Formal applications must be submitted by Sunday 15th March
  • Students will receive the outcome of their application by w/c 30th March
