by Jacob Polley and John Alder
Date/Time: Thursday 1st November, 7.15pm

Lamanby, an interdisciplinary theatrical performance fusing spoken word, film, and music, tells the story of a childhood house that becomes the site of an alternative personal history and dream-vision of boyhood and the North of England.
Jacob Polley is the author of four acclaimed books of poems, The Brink (2003), Little Gods (2006), The Havocs (2012) and Jackself (2016), which won the 2016 TS Eliot Prize. His first novel, Talk of the Town, a fiercely demotic and funny coming-of-age murder mystery, won the 2010 Somerset Maugham Award. He is Professor of Creative Writing at Newcastle University.
John Alder was the guitarist, backing vocalist and co-songwriter with British rock band, The Jags, going on to play session guitar and perform backing vocals for producer Steve Levine. An award-winning composer for BBC nature documentaries, John has also been the sound designer and video artist for many theatre productions with Northern Stage, The National Theatre of Scotland and Live Theatre.
