Vacation Projects

To work on one of these projects, you need to approach the appropriate supervisor as soon as possible.

Scheme application

These schemes encourage you to develop your own project ideas with a potential supervisor. With their help, you submit an application. We look at applications on the scientific merit of the project and academic merit to the student.

Colour perception and colour preference

Several projects are available in the area of colour perception, memory, and preference. You will gain experience of psychophysical testing and data analysis.

You also pick up knowledge of visual perception and experimental design. Things we look at include why men and women prefer different colours and whether bananas are always yellow.

Contact Prof Anya Hurlbert for more infotmation.

Does the brain allow for eye movement when fusing the two eyes' images?

The project involves you spending time taking psychophysical data. You look at images on a computer screen and press buttons to say what you see.

There will also be the opportunity to get involved in the data analysis if you desire.

Contact Professor Jenny Read for more information.
