Alison undertook doctoral research on philanthropy and higher education in the UK at Newcastle University. The thesis was supervised by Professor Harvey & Professor Mueller. She was awarded her PhD in 2018 and is currently working with colleagues in REWP on a number of exciting projects.
After a long career in management consulting, she became involved with philanthropy through serving on charity boards in the US and UK. Her research interests include non-profit finance and economics, with a special focus on fundraising. She is currently researching the development of endowment funding at UK universities, with the ultimate goal of applying the research to assist charities with their fundraising strategy.
