Discover Careers in Music Tech
The Discover Careers in Music Tech! event brings together industry professionals to share their experiences and insights.
The event is open to anyone aged 14 and over and will offer an opportunity to explore pathways into an exciting and fast-evolving sector.
Hosted by Newcastle University’s Music department in partnership with Technology in Music Education (TiME), UK Music and TheMusicLicence, the event will feature:
- a keynote talk
- panel discussion
- industry presentations
- a variety of hands-on workshops
- and the chance to meet industry professionals from across the music and creative industries
Participants will gain insights into roles spanning music production, song writing, live events, music technology and the wider creative industries.
Industry contributors confirmed for the event include:
- Jack Laidlaw from music software company Ableton
- representatives from music development agency Generator
- the PPL PRS Women in Tech Pathways Programme
- Kulji Bhamra MBE
Additional speakers are expected to be announced ahead of the event.
Throughout the day, attendees will be able to meet industry exhibitors and hear directly from professionals about their career journeys, the skills needed to succeed and the opportunities available within the sector.
The event will include the chance to discover new music technologies and learn how technology is shaping today's music industry.
Attendance is free, but advance booking is required.
