The Alumni Holidays are a chance to go to some of the most beautiful, historical parts of the world, with the people who know the most about them.
Newcastle academic Jerry Paterson is leading one group alumni along the southern coast of Turkey in a gulet, while another group is following in the footsteps of Newcastle icon Gertrude Bell in Syria.
To give you a taster, Jerry discusses the amazing Caunos tombs, and how on earth these huge monuments were carved into the cliffs.
