Atrium

A relaxing space exclusive to University staff and Postgraduate students to enjoy. With comfortable sofas, it's the perfect spot to spend a quiet half an hour or catch up with friends and colleagues. Serving barista coffee and a range of light snacks.

Bites

Located on the ground floor of the Dental School, Bites is a firm favourite with our Medical students. The star of the show here are the made to order sandwiches from the Deli counter – choose your bread, hot or cold filling and salad garnish for the perfect deli style sandwich or custom salad box. Also up for grabs are hot breakfast rolls and continental pastries, jacket potatoes, hot savoury pastry selection, snacks and drinks.

Business School Café

Choose from a selection of breakfast rolls, light lunches and snacks or treat yourself to a barista coffee. Located on the Helix site on the ground floor of the Business School, it’s a popular spot to pick up a coffee before a lecture or catch up on some notes.

Catalyst

Located on the Helix site in the beautiful, airy foyer of The Catalyst, the Catalyst is a great location for informal meetings or catch ups with colleagues. It offers barista coffee and speciality loose-leaf teas. A range of snacks, pastries and delicious cakes are also available.

Castle Leazes Dining Hall

The dining facilities in Castle Leazes is used by the students who live there. We serve a variety of hot meals (including vegetarian options), side dishes (including salads) and desserts.

Chicken Shack

Chicken Shack is the perfect place to grab a quick lunch without destroying your wallet! Based on central campus in the Students’ Union, it serves up comfort food favourites from oven baked meals including burgers, wraps, fries, as well as deep-fried treats such as popcorn chicken. Following a plant-based diet? Don’t be put off by the name, Vegan burgers and wraps are available. Additionally, all of our chicken produce is Halal.

Courtyard

Refurbished in 2023, Courtyard has a spacious dining area as well as a quieter corner if you prefer for informal meetings. Famous for its cooked breakfast, staff and students love this dish – setting them up for the day without breaking the bank. For lunch, choose from a wonderful variety of fresh food options including Asian fusion at our Oishii counter, homemade pizza slices, Friday Fish & Chips and a selection of delicious Chef Specials. There are also a range of sandwiches, wraps, pastries and salads available.

Daysh Café

Located within the relaxing study space in the Henry Daysh Building, the Daysh Café provides barista drinks including coffee, herbal teas and hot chocolate. You can also enjoy a range of sandwiches, hot paninis and sweet treats, with plenty of vegetarian and plant-based options. A popular spot for Humanities and Social Sciences students to pick up a coffee or grab lunch in between lectures.

The Grand

Much loved among staff and students, The Grand is a favourite spot to meet. It offers loose leaf teas, barista coffee with the option to add a flavoured syrup or opt for an iced coffee. A selection of light lunch options are also available including sandwiches, breakfast rolls and pastries, wraps and soups as well as a range of delicious cakes and traybakes. Pop along and enjoy the modern interiors or make the most of the outdoor seating on a sunny day.

Robinson Library Café

Take a break from your studies in the Robinson Library Café. Serving a range of hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, pastries, wraps and snacks. With late opening hours during the week and one of the only campus cafés open at the weekend, the Robinson Library Café is there to fuel all your study sessions.

Sports Café

Open 7 days a week. Treat yourself to Starbucks coffee, light snacks and grab-and-go sandwiches. The Sports Cafe also has a selection of high-protein snacks such as shakes and protein bars and serves up protein meal pots such as Chicken Katsu and Thai Green Curry.

Urban

Located in the Urban Sciences Building, Urban is particularly popular among Computer Science students. Enjoy the large, modern, light and airy space to sit back and refuel with a choice of hot and cold drinks, deli sandwiches, paninis, jacket potatoes and snacks.

Walton Library

Based in the Medical School, the Walton Library Café is a convenient spot for Medical Sciences students to take a break from their studies. With a range of barista hot and cold drinks including iced coffee flavoured to your liking, sandwiches and snacks on offer.
