Research Interests

Postwar British Fiction (1945-present); black British, British Asian and Caribbean literature/film; the modern short story (1920s-1960s) and its relationship to empire; West Indian and African writing at the BBC; readers and reception in the global and transnational literary marketplace; British cultural studies and the work of Stuart Hall; postcolonial, migrant and diaspora literatures.
