Research

Research Interests

Within the broad research area of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, my specific research interests lie in two interconnected areas, biomaterials and bio-fabrication of scaffolds for tissue engineering. Related interests include design biomimetic systems, development of functional materials (i.e. cell carriers, bioinks for 3D-printing), and manufacturing of hybrid constructs with advanced bio-functional properties.

Development of bio-inks for 3D bioprinting technologies. Engineering single-cell surface coatings. Fabrication of bio-synthetic polymers and hybrid constructs. Formulation of hydrogels based on natural polymers.
