Contribute to live, world-leading research projects, in a supportive research community.

Students are invited to apply for their preferred project areas during the application stage.

  • Engineering: Designing a climate service to finance future wind farms
  • Engineering: Quantum Computing for Hybrid AC/DC Grid Operations
  • Statistics: Exploration in tree-space
  • Statistics: Predicting Extreme Solar Flares
  • Mechanical Engineering: A&E Waiting Room Wearables & Feedback System
  • Mechanical Engineering: Gamification of Medical Models
  • Chemistry: Phosphonium Salts

We publish our full list of available project descriptions at the end of October.

Trips and Events

Our scheduled trips and events enable you to expand your cultural horizons, forge important friendships and create memories that will last a lifetime.

Previous student groups have explored castles on the stunning Northumberland Coast, discovered hidden 19th century tunnels right under the city streets, toured the majestic St James Park - home of Newcastle United Football Club, and enjoyed classic 'fish and chips' at the seaside.

All scheduled events are included in the programme fee.

[check back here in October for the trip schedule release]
