The establishment of a North East Combined Authority and Mayor for the North East is intended to be a positive step towards reducing inequality and the North-South divide, but how can investment be targeted where we need it most? A panel of experts will discuss how we can drive growth and productivity in the region.

Panellists:

  • Andy Haldane, Chief Executive Officer of the Royal Society of Arts, former Chief Economist at the Bank of England
  • Lucy Armstrong, Chair, Port of Tyne
  • Paul Kett, Senior Adviser and Global Director Education and Skills, PwC United Kingdom
  • Charlotte Carpenter, Director of Skills, Inclusion and Public Service Reform, North East Combined Authority

The panel is chaired by Jane Robinson, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Engagement and Place, Newcastle University.
