London alumni event (July 2024)
Join us for our upcoming event in London to network with fellow graduates and celebrate the successes of our alumni community.
The event will also feature an inspiring and thought-provoking fireside chat with Lucy Thomas (Newcastle alumna and Chief Financial Officer at Channel 4), hosted by Sameena Bashey (Newcastle alumna and Executive Coach & Leadership Consultant).
Lucy will share insights into leading with authenticity, navigating challenges, and building influence as a female executive in 2025.

About Lucy Thomas
Lucy Thomas has been the Chief Financial Officer at Channel 4 since April 2024.
After graduating from Newcastle University, Lucy qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Anderson. She then joined Sky, where she spent 20+ years in a range of roles – including Finance Director and Chief Data Officer. She continued her career at Bauer Media in a hybrid COO/CFO role before joining Channel 4.
About Sameena Bashey
Sameena Bashey is an executive coach and leadership consultant with over 30 years of experience in global HR leadership. She is the founder of Sameena Bashey Consulting Limited, specialising in executive coaching and leadership development. Through her work, she inspires leaders to unlock exceptional performance and enhance their impact on their teams, business, and careers.
She holds a degree in Psychology, a postgraduate diploma in Human Resource Management (FCIPD), and an MBA from Newcastle University. Sameena currently serves as Chair of Newcastle University’s MBA Advisory Board and sits on the International Advisory Board of the Business School.
