Make new connections within your local alumni community at the next event hosted by the Newcastle University Newcastle Alumni Network.
The event will take place at the newly refurbished event space in King's Gate, right here on campus. This is a great opportunity for recent graduates to network with the wider Newcastle graduate community and potential employers.
The evening will feature:
- An introduction from Tamma Carel (Newcastle graduate, senior environmental consultant, sustainability strategist, co-founder of iCOR Systems, and founder of Imvelo Ltd), who will highlight the importance of networking and the difference access to your local alumni community can make.
- Speed networking bingo - engage in informal, relaxed networking with help from networking bingo cards.
- Refreshments - enjoy a drink and pizza as you network and exchange ideas.
Tamma Carel is a senior environmental consultant, sustainability strategist, and co-founder of iCOR Systems – a compliance software platform supporting environmental and health & safety audits across multi-site operations.
She is also the founder of Imvelo Ltd., helping businesses embed ESG into operations and align with global standards. In 2024, Tamma delivered a TEDx talk reflecting on her South African roots and the urgent need to reduce consumption to protect our ecosystems. Advocating a “Nature First” approach, she calls for putting planetary health at the centre of every decision.
Tamma is an Associate Lecturer in Sustainability and holds a BSc, MSc and an Executive MBA from Newcastle University. She’s an active advocate for women in STEM and supports organisations in building leadership, risk awareness, and resilience to drive measurable progress toward the UN SDGs.
