Undergraduate Students

We supervise research projects at undergraduate level in a wide range of areas relevant to Healthier Lives.

Our staff contribute to undergraduate teaching and supervise undergraduate research projects for degree programmes across all three faculties in the University.

These projects are often embedded within larger programmes of research. This allows project students to:

  • gain experience within multi-disciplinary teams
  • start building networks that are of long-term benefits for their careers

Facilities

Studying at Newcastle will give you access to world class facilities. The Dame Margaret Barbour Building, houses bespoke facilities to support learning and teaching in the School of Psychology, including:

  • forensic interviewing suite
  • nutrition and food preference unit
  • media and behaviour lab
  • medical consultation rooms
  • psychological testing cubicles

Sport and Exercise Science

Our sports centre located next door to the Medical School provides space for performance and recreational sport and academic space for Sport and Exercise Science research and teaching. The 5,962m2 building houses multitude of sports facilities, including:

  • eight-court sports hall
  • four squash courts
  • strength and conditioning gym
  • exercise physiology lab
  • biomechanics lab
  • gait track
  • high performance lab
  • nutrition kitchen
  • blood preparation and analysis lab
  • environmental chamber to simulate altitude, temperature and humidity
