Late arrivals

We understand that some students may face unavoidable delays - here's what you need to know if you're arriving after the start of induction week.

Requesting a late arrival

It is important that you arrive on time to ensure you don’t miss any important induction or teaching and assessment activities.

However, if you are going to be late due to delays caused by issues such as immigration or travel delays, arrival up until Monday 6 October 2025 may be possible, depending on your degree programme and subject to approval.

To request approval for a late arrival, please complete this form. If you have any concerns, please raise an enquiry through your Applicant Portal.

You can complete your registration after you arrive, but you must be ready to attend classes from the latest approved arrival date.

Please also see our Late Arrivals webpage for further information and support.

Arriving after 19 September?

If you arrive after induction week (15 - 19 September 2025), there are still plenty of ways to catch up, meet new people and settle into University life:

  • Contact your School to let them know you’ve arrived and ask for any key information from the School induction.

  • Join The Big Welcome at the Students’ Union – activities run until 19 October.

  • Check out the Cost of Living Hub for support and resources to help manage your finances.
