About Diagnostics North East

Diagnostics North East (DxNE) brings together research infrastructures, capabilities and resources across the North East of England. This includes the Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Newcastle University and others from across the region. We aim to benefit NHS patients by supporting the discovery, development, evaluation and adoption of high-quality diagnostics.

Our team is dedicated to improving the efficiency and effectiveness of interactions between companies, clinicians and academic researchers by:

  • signposting to appropriate partners
  • facilitating discussion and the development of formal collaborations.

Support is available throughout the year and through the DxNE annual conference, which showcases the world-class resources and expertise available in the region.

Stage

Researchers can approach DxNE for support at any point along the translational pathway. Whether that’s at an early-ideas development stage, at the evaluation and evidence for adoption phases, or during preparation for adoption.

We help diagnostic developers during every stage of the Translational Research Pathway, D1-D3 and T1-T3. We provide support ranging from basic discovery research to evaluation and adoption into healthcare systems.
