The Newcastle Wellcome Trust Translational Partnership (WTTP) supports Newcastle University researchers carrying out early-stage translational research by providing:

  • Advice and expertise from our Translator in Residence and Research Funding Development Manager (Early Translational Research).
  • Periodic calls for Early Translational Research Fund for research projects up to £10,000.
  • Translational Explorer Scheme providing support to early career researchers (ECRs) for secondments/ placements or to explore a translational research idea​.
  • Access to an external network of advisers, bringing in specialist expertise for projects where needed.
  • Training for translational research skills development.

Stage

Researchers should get in touch as soon as possible when they have an early translational idea and are looking for support. ​The WTTP supports stages D2, D3 and T1 along the Translational Research Pathway.​
