The NIHR North-East North-Cumbria Clinical Research Network (NENC CRN) make sure that health and care research occupies the place it deserves to across the North East and North Cumbria area. We work closely with Trusts, primary care organisations and any other qualified providers of NHS services as well as Local Authorities and other relevant settings.

We cover research across 31 specialty areas, including primary care, social caremental health, cancer, and dementia.

Our team includes staff with expertise in Chief Investigator support, study set up, commercial studies and primary care. Our service focuses on working together to add value and contribute to the successful delivery of studies in the following areas:

  • Assistance with study set up
  • Costings and finance
  • Feasibility
  • Assistance with expressions of interest
  • Identifying new studies
  • Providing guidance on portfolio adoption
  • Assistance with research governance
  • Setting up participant identification centres
  • Liaising with local Research and Development offices, support departments, pharmacy
