Networks, societies and sports clubs aren’t limited to your time at Newcastle University. You can stay connected with fellow alumni who share your interests through an Alumni Network. This can help you build your community and keep links with your university alive.
We have a whole host of Alumni Networks already established and organised by amazing volunteers around the world. These include:
- Graduates living in a certain parts of the world.
- Graduates from the same course or working in the same industry.
- Graduates who have a shared passion for a sport or hobby.

Newcastle University China Alumni Association (NUCAA)
NUCAA aims to strengthen connections between the UK and China. As well as fostering relationships between alumni across the globe and back to the University. There are a large number of Newcastle alumni in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Wuhan, Fujian, Anhui, Chengdu & Chongqing, Tianjin, Shanxi and 15 other prefecture-level cities. Hong Kong Alumni Society
An alumni society based in Hong Kong that connects, empowers and inspires alumni, supporters and prospective students with high-quality networking activities.
The Newcastle University Hong Kong Alumni Society aims to:
- Engage with the alumni network in Hong Kong to promote a sense of belonging. This includes networking, recreational events, providing mutual support and more;
- Facilitate placements, internships and other collaborations with Hong Kong employers and other organisations
- Promote Newcastle University to prospective students.
- Encourage individuals, companies and charitable entities to collaborate or provide support for education, teaching, research and scholarships at the University.
- Raise funds to further the Society’s objectives. This includes making funding available for research or to students whether by way of scholarships or otherwise.

Newcastle University Iraq Alumni Network (NUIAN)
In 2022, our global alumni community welcomed its 250,000th member. This milestone inspired a group of alumni to form a network for Iraq-based graduates. The group encourages lifelong connections with the alumni community and alma mater.
As a group, they aim to inspire future Iraqi students at Newcastle University by supporting the University's activity and creating opportunities to network and make social connections.
NUIAN is open to anyone who have graduated from Newcastle University, living and/or currently working in Iraq. Join our Facebook group to keep up to date with events and activities.
Newcastle University Korea Alumni Network (NUKAN)
NUKAN (Newcastle University Korea Alumni Network) aims to provide opportunities to meet and communicate among different generations of students in different fields of expertise, creating extensive web networks.
Objectives
- Providing networking opportunities for graduates who are now scattered among different industries.
- Helping young graduates and students with professional advice from alumni.
- Creating job connections and referral opportunities among different graduate generations.
- Seeking and helping graduates who want to work and live in South Korea, and future students who are enrolling at Newcastle University.
- Generating positive impact on the society with volunteering.
Newcastle Alumni Network
Are you a graduate still based in Newcastle or the surrounding area? Join the Newcastle Alumni Network to reconnect with campus and your fellow alumni. The Newcastle University Newcastle Alumni Network aims to:
- Showcase the success within our alumni community.
- Provide networking opportunities within a trusted network.

University of Newcastle upon Tyne Graduates Society (North of England)
This network provides opportunities for alumni living in the north of England. It offers socialising and networking through informal and informative lectures and events. The Society is a constituted organisation managed by a small Graduates Society Committee.
It has a year-round programme of events. This includes supper lectures at the University, afternoon teas and talks and visits to local places of interest.
Membership of the Society is open to all alumni of Newcastle University and King's College Durham. Associate membership is available to partners of members and others connected to the University. There is a small annual membership fee.

Newcastle University Singapore Alumni Network
Newcastle University has been a popular destination for Singaporean students since the 1960s. In 2022, the University reached 250,000 global alumni members and hosted a celebration event in Singapore to mark the occasion. This opportunity to reconnect inspired NUSAN to bring the Singapore alumni community together.

Newcastle University Taiwan Alumni Association (NUTAA)
Newcastle University Taiwan Alumni Association promotes a sense of belonging. It supports and empowers alumni in Taiwan through high-quality networking activities and events. This includes:
- Lifelong learning and academic research.
- Careers advice and support.
- Social networking and entertainment.
- Volunteering.
NUTAA is open to graduates who are currently living and/or working in Taiwan.
Durham and Newcastle Medical Graduates Association (DNMGA)
Established in 1986, DNMGA is one of our longest-running alumni networks. The network aims to keep medical graduates in touch with the affairs of the University, and with one another. It also facilitates annual reunions.
Full membership of the Association is open to those who have graduated MB BS from the Universities of Newcastle or Durham. Or to anyone who has a relevant higher degree by either of these Universities. Associate membership is available to:
- Past and present members of teaching staff from the Medical School.
- Administrative staff from the Medical School.
- Spouses and partners of full members.

Newcastle University Shipping Alumni Society
This society aims to benefit all shipping alumni of Newcastle University. It is for those interested or working in shipping and other related sectors. The society's aims are to:
- Offer networking opportunities between people of the same interests, to encourage co-operation.
- Provide information on the shipping industry and related sectors.
- Organise talks and career events with professionals from the industry.
- Promote available opportunities related to the maritime sector.
University of Newcastle Agricultural Society (UNAS)
Commonly referred to as the Senior Agricultural Society. Membership of this network is open to all graduates with an interest in agriculture, food or the rural environment. The University has a rich history in agriculture teaching and research. Our alumni play a vital role in this history.
The Society's aims are to provide:
- A forum for the discussion of development in agriculture and related industries.
- A link between the research of our School and industry.
- Assistance, advice and contacts to graduates as careers develop.
- And to promote and support the work of our School and our students.
These aims are achieved through regular meetings, newsletters and an annual reunion dinner held in November.
Athletics and Cross Country Club
Were you part of the Athletics and Cross Country Club while studying at Newcastle University? If so, you can join our alumni network. Reconnect and reminisce with past and current members and share training tips.
The alumni network hosts an annual 'Past v Present' event providing the opportunity to engage in healthy competition.

Blue Star Club
Blue Star Club is the official alumni boat club of Newcastle University, and prides itself on having the best alumni rowing club in the UK.
Join our network to:
- attend annual social events such as the Jim London and Blue Star Dinner.
- compete at races such as Rutherford Head, Henley Town and Visitors, Henley Royal Regatta and Trinity Regatta in Ireland.
- gain access to our facilities to row on the River Tyne.

Newcastle University Retired Staff Association (NURSA)
Membership of NURSA is open to all Newcastle University retired staff.
The network enables its members to:
- Maintain contact with each other and with the University;
- Participate in social, educational, and recreational activities;
- Use their intellectual capital, experience, and networks to support the University, research community VOICE and the wider community.
To join NURSA, retired staff must first register with VOICE, then obtain a one-use validation password from alumni.volunteer@newcastle.ac.uk.
Newcastle University Rugby Football Club (NURFC) Vice President’s Association
NURFC Vice President’s Association is a group of alumni rugby players from Newcastle University. The club supports rugby at the University by contributing to kit, travel and specialist coaching. Member benefits include:
- receive an annual newsletter, details of social events and team updates.
- access to selected tickets for England International fixtures.
- new members receive a free copy of Pride in the Lion: The History of Newcastle University Rugby Football Club. Written by former President, the late Stewart Evans.
