Leica M205

Modalities: upright, stereo, fluorescence

Overview

The M205 is a fluorescence capable stereo microscope with automated zoom and filter wheel.

The M205 is a fluorescence capable stereo microscope with automated zoom and filter wheel. It can be equipped with 0.5, 1 or 2x objectives, allowing a zoom range from ~ 3x to 360x with focus stacking options post acquisition.

It is equipped with several illumination options:

  • base light for transmission
  • ringlight (on 1x objective)
  • fixed angle spotlights
  • Metal Halide lamp for fluorescence with a choice of filters for GFP, YFP or RFP

Image capture is via a colour camera using Las-X software.

Imaging Modes:

  • Brightfield
  • Fluorescence
  • Both with optional focus stacking

Within our facility we have two M205 systems.

M205 (1) - Located in the the main facility will not do transmission.

M205 (2) - Located in the Cookson Building 4th floor is capable for both fluorescnce and transmission.
