Bioimaging Unit

Leica SPE

Leica SPE

Modalities: invert, confocal, live cell

Overview

The Leica SPE is a point scanning confocal microscope.

The microscope is based around a fully motorized, inverted DMi8 body with hardware-enabled focus correction.

The system has one PMT detector for fluorescence imaging and one for transmitted light detection.

The system can also be operated in widefield fluorescence mode and perform regular 2D, 3D and 4D imaging with the ability for multi-point re-visiting and tiling.

The microscope is enclosed in an environmental chamber that can be heated and gas-balanced.

All image acquisition is controlled via LasX software.

Imaging modes

  • Multipoint x,y with tiling (2D)

  • Volume x,y,z (3D)
  • Fluorescence
  • FRET
  • FRAP
  • DIC
  • Time-lapse x,y,z,t (4D)
