Staff Profile
I am a Research Assistant at Newcastle University, where I contribute to biosecurity and DNA data storage. My role centers on computationally designing synthetic barcodes, biosecurity scanning of synthetic dna and identifying "genomic safe harbors" for secure integration.
I hold M.Phil degree in Bioinformatics, where my research focused on microbial bioinformatics. This work makes me proficient in genomics of microbes, rational drug discovery againt resistant microbes. Before joining Newcastle university, I worked at National Institute for Genomics and Advanced Biotechnology (NIGAB) in Pakistan, where I worked on genomics, metabolic modeling and using machine learning applications in microbial genomics.
I am passionate about applying AI in genomics and synthetic biology projects and am actively working to expand bioinformatics tools for synthetic biology and barcoding.
