Other Venues

These venues are not managed by the Conference Team, but can still be booked for events at the University. They include an art gallery, sports hall, dance studio and kitchen.

Cockle Park Farm

Cockle Park Farm is part of the School of Natural and Environmental Sciences. The farm offers a unique rural venue for small meetings and events.

There is a multi-purpose seminar room which can accommodate up to 70 delegates and 'The Lodge', which can accommodate up to 35 delegates. On site parking is available.

Dove Marine Laboratory

The coastal location of the Dove Marine Laboratory offers a novel and picturesque setting for a Staff Away Day, workshop or small conference.

There are two rooms available for hire holding up to 30 delegates in each, The Buchanan and Evans room. There is free parking in the immediate vicinity and excellent public transport links to the city centre.

Hatton Art Gallery

The Hatton Gallery is one of the largest and most handsome exhibition spaces in North East England. It has its own permanent art collection and a distinguished programme of temporary exhibitions. It also provides an opportunity for Newcastle University art students to exhibit their work.

The gallery is available for evening hires with a maximum capacity of 300. It is a unique and beautiful venue, suitable for a range of different functions.

Sports Centre

Newcastle University has outstanding indoor and outdoor sports facilities. Our Centre for Physical Recreation and Sport boasts two fitness suites and full of state of the art cardiovascular and weights equipment. 

Their are two large multi-purpose activity spaces that can be merged into one extra large space if needed. Additional facilities include a mirrored studio, a large sports hall and four squash courts.

NU Food

NU-Food offers flexible meeting and small group facilities ideal for focus groups and engagement events.

The meeting space can accommodate up to 20 people seated in boardroom format around a table, or up to 60 as a standing-only venue for buffet events. The space can also be divided into two separate rooms: one to accommodate up to 16 in boardroom format and one smaller breakout, reception or refreshment area.
