Knowledge Transfer Partnerships
Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs) are a great way for industry and academia to collaborate. They involve:
- transferring knowledge into the business
- creating new capabilities
- generating long-term profit
Projects last between 12-36 months and are part-funded by UKRI through Innovate UK. The KTP associate works full-time for the business, while the University employs and supervises them.

Is there a piece of analysis or some expert advice that you need to move forwards? Do you have a particular skillset lacking in your organisation?
A commercial consultancy relationship could be what you need to get expert insight into your bespoke problem.

The National Innovation centre for Data in Newcastle sits close to our School of Computing. It helps support businesses to exploit the opportunities of big data.
