Ms Dianne Nelmes

Dianne Nelmes is a Broadcasting Consultant who trains and advises in media presentation and styling. She works with television journalists and presenters; politicians and businessmen and women.

Dianne has had a long and award winning broadcasting career, spanning News; Current Affairs; Investigative Journalism; and Lifestyle Programming.

A graduate in Politics and Economics from Newcastle University, Dianne trained with the Times Group of newspapers before moving into television at BBC Look North, where she was a journalist and on-screen reporter.
Dianne moved to Granada Television where she was an investigative journalist on the award winning network flagship current affairs programme, World In Action. She eventually became the first, and only, woman to be appointed Executive Producer of the series. She was appointed Granada’s Controller of Factual Programmes with responsibility for news; current affairs, documentaries, features and sport.

A staunch supporter of women’s broadcasting issues, Dianne went on to launch some of Britain’s most successful lifestyle programming, including This Morning with Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan. She also launched several groundbreaking ITV entertainment series, including Stars In Their Eyes and You’ve Been Framed.

As ITV’s Controller of Documentaries, Daytime and Features, Dianne created the award winning series Loose Women and commissioned the iconic documentary on child poverty in Great Britain, Kelly And Her Sisters, which won every major documentary award.
She left ITV to become the managing director of Liberty Bell, an independent documentary production company owned by Avalon Entertainment.
