About me

I am reading for a PhD in technology, education and society. I have been Inspiring Learners Since 2001. I am committed to creating a learning environment that acknowledges and accommodates students’ unique abilities, personal and social circumstances, to promote equality, diversity and inclusion. Born and raised in Botswana.

My research project

My project explores how 21st century technologies are used to address everyday needs of people, specifically among rural communities and communities in digitally transformed environments in Botswana.

The study adopts a techno-user-centric approach and focuses on two concepts: digital citizenship and The Triple Revolution, to analyse and understand technologies and their users.

Digital citizenship concerns itself with identifying the characteristics of users that enable them to live and thrive in an increasingly digital and connected society. The Triple Revolution seeks to explain the combined effects of innovation in three technological dimensions: the expansion of mobile technology; broadband internet deployment; and social media.

  • Use of digital technologies for social justice and life-long learning.
  • Exploring digital semiotics, iconography and interfaces as tools for media education among communities with low literacy levels
