Induction Week begins on Monday 18 September 2023.

Induction is your opportunity to familiarise yourself with your School and programme of study and ensure that you are prepared before your course begins. Your student induction will be delivered by your School, with a mixture of both face-to-face and online activities. Some of this is essential for you to complete and you should wait to hear more from your School.

To access your student induction, you must first make sure that you are registered online.

During induction, you will:

  • meet your fellow students as well as the helpful staff and teams who will support you on your journey
  • discover more about our inclusive University culture and ethos
  • learn about your exciting transition to University
  • explore the University, our vibrant city of Newcastle and the huge range of opportunities available to you

Much of your induction will be delivered through our virtual learning environment Canvas. This gives you the opportunity to undertake your core induction at a time that suits you. You can find lots of helpful information about using Canvas here. Details of how to access Canvas will be shared with you once you're registered.

Newcastle University Students’ Union Freshers' Week will also offer many online and in-person activities for you to get involved with.
