Drummond Quad BioBlitz

25 September, 12:00 - 14:00
Drummond Quad

Citizen Science BioBlitz

Join the School of Natural and Environmental Sciences and the Sustainability Team to conduct a BioBlitz!

We will be using citizen science methods to explore the flora and fauna present in Drummond Quad, we hope to record data that will indicate the species present, including varieties of flowers, trees, birds and pollinators. All are welcome to join, including those that are new to nature recording, there will be plenty of colleagues around to help if you have not participated in a BioBlitz before.

Participating in a BioBlitz is a great way to get outside, enjoy some fresh air and meet new people. We will also be using the data recorded to contribute toward establishing the University's biodiversity baseline.

iNaturalist

We will be recording the findings using an app called iNaturalist, that is available on Apple and Android devices. We will be recording the findings this way so we can record, analyse and compare the data collected from this annual BioBlitz.

Any recordings made on the app during this two hour window will be visible on our Drummond Quad BioBliz iNaturalist project.

If you have not used this app before, we recommend reading our iNaturalist blog post to find helpful instructions and tips.
