Dr Paul Ezhilchelvan

Reader in Distributed Computing



Paul Ezhilchelvan received Ph.D. degree in computer science in 1989 from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom.

He received the Bachelor of Engineering degree in 1981from the University of Madras, India, and the Master of Engineering degree in 1983 from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.

He joined the School of Computing Science of the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 1983 where he is currently a Reader. His research interests are in Distributed algorithms, Consensus and multicast protocols, wireless ad-hoc networks, crash-tolerant stream processing, performance evaluation and stochastic modelling.

Esteem Indicators

EPSRC College of Reviewers: I have been invited in January 2006 to join this prestigious proposals review body.

I act as an external PhD examiner at prestigious Universities which include: Leeds, Leicester, York, Linkoping (Sweden) and INSA, Rennes (France).

I routinely serve in the Program Committees of many well-recognised IEEE/ACM conferences. The ones I currently (Oct 2013) serve are:  the International Symposium on Object-oriented Real-time Computing (ISORC) 2014 and the ACM Symposium on Applied Computing (DADS Track)  2014.
