3rd Place for Adrienne in NUISS Doctoral Impact Awards

PhD student Adrienne Attorp received 3rd place prize in the first Institute for Social Science (NUISS) doctoral impact awards. The competition asked students to summarise their PhD research and its societal impacts in a 60-second film, thus challenging them to be creative in how the conveyed their key messages.

The 2nd year Centre for Rural Economy and Sociology PhD student’s video focused on her research into agricultural policy on the Island or Ireland, and how agricultural pollution of waterways is managed north and south of the border.

The video has gone down well with colleagues in the Centre for Rural Economy who see it as an excellent means of summarising research and conveying it to a wider audience.

Adrienne said ‘Summarising your research in 60 seconds is a huge challenge, but such a good exercise. The film was pretty fun to make too’.
