CRE Research Associate Dr Regina Hansda has been awarded funding by the Royal Geographical Society to carry out research on indigenous food festivals among Adivasi people in modern India.
She will be examining two distinctly different Adivasi/indigenous food festivals in two different states, to gain a better understanding of the potential social, economic, environmental and political implications of such events.
Professor Sally Shortall said: “This is an extremely prestigious award from the Royal Geographical Society which attracts strong competition. So it’s a tribute to Regina’s scholarship that her work on food sovereignty is being supported by this fund.”
