Student Mobility Sub-Committee

Student Mobility Sub Committee (SMSC)

A joint sub-committee of UEC and UGC providing governance for all international study and work placements, and 9-12 month optional UK work placements.

Student Mobility Sub-committee's responsibilities include:

  • developing, implementing and monitoring the University’s provision of placement opportunities for students, including UK, international and virtual placements
  • aligning the placement offer across the University where appropriate
  • agreeing on responsibilities, procedures and ownership of different parts of the placements process (e.g. Health & Safety; emergency procedures; admissions requirements)
  • developing placement opportunities that are accessible to all students
  • supporting information sharing and communication between Schools, Faculties, Central Teams and UK and overseas campuses
  • advising on operational guidelines and procedures.
