The University has a wide range of educational partnerships with organisations and institutions across the world. 

Singapore Institute of Technology

Singapore Institute of Technology: University of Applied Learning (singaporetech.edu.sg) (SIT) established in 2014 is Singapore’s first university of applied learning, offering specialised degree programmes tailored to industry needs.

Newcastle University collaborates with SIT to offer joint undergraduate degree programmes.  The programmes are delivered at the SIT campus in Singapore by both Newcastle University and SIT academic staff.  As part of their studies, students also have the unique opportunity to spend three weeks at the Newcastle campus in the UK.

Pusan National University

Pusan National University is a public research university located in Busan, South Korea.  It is one of the top institutions in the country, and offers a wide range of programmes.

The partnership with Pusan National University was established in 2015, students from Pusan come to Newcastle to study for dual award in the School of Engineering in the following areas:

  • MSc Offshore, Subsea and Pipeline Engineering
  • MSc Naval Architecture
  • MSc Marine Engineering 

 

INHA University

Inha University is a private research university located in Incheon, South Korea. 

The partnership with Inha University was established in 2015, students from Inha come to Newcastle to study for dual award in the School of Engineering in the following areas:

  • MSc Offshore, Subsea and Pipeline Engineering
  • MSc Naval Architecture
  • MSc Marine Engineering 
PwC/ICAEW

BSc Hons Business Accounting and Finance with work placements

The ‘Flying Start’ degree is a collaboration between Newcastle University Business School, PWC and ICAEW, designed to offer students the opportunity to combine academic study with integrated, paid professional work placements in PwC’s audit practice.  Throughout the programme, students work towards achieving the ICAEW Chartered Accountancy qualification, the ACA.

The Poetry School

Writing Poetry MA

Students can choose to study in either Newcastle or London.  The London course is run in collaboration with The Poetry School.  The Poetry School was founded in 1997 and is a national arts organisation providing tuition and opportunities for poets.  They offer a wide range of courses, workshops and resources for poets of all levels.  They offer both in-person and online learning opportunities and are the largest provider of poetry education.

Universitas Indonesia

Universitas Indonesia (UI) is a public (state) university and one of the oldest and most prestigious institutions in Indonesia. 

The University and UI have a longstanding partnership, under the agreement medical and dental students from UI come to Newcastle University to  complete a MRes degree within the Faculty of Medical Sciences. 

 

Universiti Brunei Darussalam

Universiti Brunei Darussalam is a public university in Brunei. 

Through the partnership with the University and Universiti Brunei Darussalam, dental students have the opportunity to come to Newcastle University to complete the Bachelor of Dental Sciences within the School of Dental Sciences

University College London and University of Southampton

Marine Technology Education Consortium (MTEC)

The MTEC is a consortium of three universities: Newcastle University, University College London and University of Southampton.  Together they offer flexible postgraduate programme in Marine Technology (MSc) with three streams
