I'm an Education Partnership Manager in the Education Partnerships team within Registry and Education Services.
I support the development of educational partnership provision, including both national and transnational education (TNE) opportunities, working with academic units and professional services across Newcastle University. I am also responsible for developing policies and frameworks that support these activities and help the University maintain oversight of the quality and standards of provision delivered in partnership with external organisations.
I have over 17 years of higher education administration experience in the United States, leading admissions, recruitment, student services, and alumni development functions for public health, medical, and combined degree programmes. I bring experience in partnership development across higher education, healthcare, government, and research organisations, together with a broad understanding of the student experience and institutional operations, to the UK higher education context.
My doctoral research in Higher Education (EdD) examined student retention among Latino students in an urban community college setting in the United States, a sector that provides accessible pathways into higher education for a diverse student population. Drawing on both my professional experience and personal educational journey, I explored how relationships between professional support staff and non-traditional students influence retention and progression. The study found that professional staff play an important role in fostering student belonging and helping students navigate institutional processes, while students also highlighted the importance of recognising and responding to mental health and wellbeing needs.
