At first, I wasn’t 100% sure which subjects I’d prefer. Combined Honours allowed to me to choose a variety of modules over different subjects and really get a feel for what I enjoy. I’m also learning a new language from beginner’s level.

Subject combinations

While flexibility and choice are at the heart of Combined Honours there are a couple of exceptions:

  • you may not take more than two Modern Language subjects, and only one can be at beginners’ level
  • it is not possible to study Chinese and Japanese, or Film Studies and Documentary Practice, together

Most students are able to study their first choice of subjects. Occasionally, some subject combinations may be unavailable due to timetable restrictions or capacity on modules. For some subjects, there may be a limit on the total number of credits available at each Stage.

If you have any queries about subject choices, or require any further information, please contact us.
