Student societies

Newcastle University Students' Union (NUSU) has over 200 societies and sports clubs you can join. The International Society brings together students of different nationalities. This society can help you settle in to the local environment and promotes cultural diversity on our campus.

The Afro-Caribbean Society aims to bring together students from Africa and the Caribbean, and anyone who shares an interest and love their culture.

Entry Requirements

English language requirements

If your first language isn't English you will generally need an IELTS score of 6.5, or equivalent, to study at Newcastle.

Our English language requirements section also lists the alternative English language qualifications we accept. This varies depending on which country you are from.
