Exhibition celebrates work of first cohort of graduating Master of Landscape Architecture students.

Students exhibit work as course celebrates re-accreditation.

26 May 2022

On Friday 13th May we opened our Landscape Architecture studio to the wider school and local practitioners to celebrate the design thesis work of our first cohort of graduating Master of Landscape Architecture students. The design thesis puts into practice all the skills and knowledge that the students have acquired over the course of two years, and it is a testament to the innovation, creativity, ethical awareness and commitment to ecological, social and climate issues that students develop over time.

Some of the exhibited interventions were subtle, yet highly effective, responding to environmental conditions to allow existing and new habitats to develop in time. Other interventions resulted from an active engagement with local communities, a personal attachment to place or in-depth research into lost cultural and historical layers of a site. All interventions were successful in promoting contact with nature and setting the stage for a myriad of activities to take place.

The students enjoyed interacting with local practitioners as they embark into the next stage of their lives, and we are grateful to all visitors that took the time to engage with the work and the students.

As we waved goodbye to our first set of graduates, we welcomed the news that the Master of Landscape Architecture has been re-accredited by the Landscape Institute, a testament to the hard work of all of our students and staff.
