Current scholarships

To help you fund your studies we offer a generous range of scholarships with awards. Our scholarship schemes are:

Business Excellence*

Up to 20 scholarships of £4,000 for high achieving UK/EU students commencing one of the specified Masters’ degree programmes for 2020 entry.

Value of award

Partial awards of £4,000 towards the cost of tuition fees.

Start date and duration

September 2020 for one year of study.

Eligibility Criteria

You will be considered for a Business Excellence Scholarship if you hold an unconditional offer for 2020 entry on one of the following Masters courses:

  • Arts, Business and Creativity MA
  • Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship MSc
  • Global Human Resource Management MSc
  • International Economics and Finance MSc
  • Banking and Finance MSc
  • Finance MSc
  • Quantitative Finance and Risk Management MSc
  • International Business Management MSc
  • International Marketing MSc
  • Operations, Logistics and Supply Chain Management MSc
  • Accounting, Finance and Strategic Investment MSc
  • International Financial Analysis MSc
  • E-Business MSc
  • E-Business (Information Systems) MSc
  • E-Business (E-Marketing) MSc

You must also meet the following criteria:

  • hold an unconditional offer of admission to one of the specified Master’s courses
  • hold a UK 1st Class Honours Degree or its international equivalent
  • have previously studied at a University with a strong academic reputation or ranking
  • hold an English language qualification of IELTS 6.5 or its equivalent with no subskill below 6.0, if your first language is not English
  • be assessed as a UK/EU student for fee paying purposes
  • be of UK/EU nationality

English Language Excellence

Up to 14 awards of £5,000 for high achieving international students demonstrating outstanding English language ability (IELTS 7.0+)

Value of award

  • achieve AAB at A Level (or its international equivalent) for entry to an Undergraduate course
  • hold a UK 2.1 Honours Degree or its international equivalent for entry to a Master's course
  • be assessed as an international student for fee paying purposes
  • be a national of one of the following countries: China, Colombia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Lebanon, Malaysia, Mexico, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, United Arab Emirates and Vietnam
  • not previously studied in a majority English speaking country

How to apply

No application required, students will be considered for these scholarships on a first come first served basis once their English Language qualification has been confirmed and meets the requirements above. Early course applications are therefore advised.

Enterprise and Innovation*

The Newcastle University Business School Enterprise and Innovation Scholarship is intended to foster an interest and build skills in innovation, enterprise and entrepreneurship.

A scholarship is available to one postgraduate UK/EU student. We are now accepting applications from students planning to start their studies in September 2019. The scholarship has a value of £3,000, payable towards tuition fees.

Eligibility Criteria

You could be eligible to apply for the Enterprise and Innovation Scholarship if:

  • You have been offered a place on the MSc in Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship or the MA in Arts, Business and Creativity
  • You have been assessed as UK/EU for fees purposes, and are wholly or partially self-financing
  • You intend to register to start your studies during the 2019-20 academic year.

How to apply

You must have been offered a place to study on the MSc in Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship or the MA in Arts, Business and Creativity at Newcastle University Business School.

The award is offered on a merit basis and applications are to be made in writing on the Enterprise and Innovation Scholarship application form and submitted electronically to: nubs@ncl.ac.uk  

One student per annum shall be chosen according to evidence of academic ability, energy and commitment to studies, financial circumstances and quality of application.
